Hanoi: 75-80% of days with good and average air quality index by 2030

Hanoi's air quality management plan has just been approved, setting the goal of increasing the number of good air days in a year from approximately 70% in 2019 to 75-80% in 2030.

On April 11, Hanoi Department of Natural Resources and Environment organized a workshop "Hanoi City Air Environment Quality Management Plan - Cooperation and Action", with the participation of nearly 70 delegates from departmental management agencies, research agencies and international organizations (USAID, AFD).
At the workshop, the Department of Natural Resources and Environment introduced details of the air quality management plan that the City People's Committee just approved in Decision No. 1142/QD-UBND dated March 2, 2024.
Accordingly, Hanoi sets important goals to achieve by 2030, including two important measurement indicators: reducing air pollution levels to ensure at least 75-80% of days in the year have Vietnam air quality index (VN_AQI) is at good and average levels; and reduce PM2.5 dust emissions from major sources across the city by 20% compared to the base year 2019. |
